Once upon a time when the moon rose blue
above the rusted junkers on the lot of the drive-in
wheat colored weeds between metal frames
silently pinning them to the ground below

we were tossing rocks trying to shatter windows
that no longer steamed up in fits of passion
occasionally seeing them hit their mark
to the sound of brittle glass raining on the asphalt (yeah)
